5 things I’m grateful for

I love the little things in life. I love small things that make me happy like a Diet Coke or a new candle. I wanted to stop and remind myself of 5 bigger things that I am thankful for right now.

1.Summer vacation: being a teacher has its perks, one which includes summer vacation. Being a working mom, the little breaks through the year keep me going. I love being able to spend special time with my daughter. My summer is shorter than normal this year but I’ve decided to be thankful for the time I do have off!

2.Being a parent: my little girl is 20 months and I can’t believe she is closer to 2 than is to 1! Cue the tears. If you’ve read my other posts you know I love being her mom. Even though we’re approaching times of small meltdowns I have to remind myself that she is only 1 and gently handle it. She does the cutest things and gives me so much love. She’s learning to pray and it’s the cutest thing ever, hands folded and one eye closed so she doesn’t miss out. Sometimes you just have to remind yourself how blessed you are to have them. Cue tears again.

3.Grace: when I hear that word I feel okay again. Life is hard to keep up with and often times I feel like I’m falling short. I’m grateful that I can remind myself that “his grace is sufficient for me and his power is made perfect in my weakness”2 Corinthians 12:9

4.My husband: speaking of grace he is one that always gives me grace. He is gentle, kind and would do anything for his girls. He also makes me laugh all the time. When I first met him, I knew I’d love him forever! We’re about to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary soon! Girls out there, don’t settle, God has someone specific I just for you.

5.My family: I’ve been able to spend a few weeks with my family and it has reminded me how amazing they are. My dad spent weeks building a special train for my daughter and my mom flew back home with me (4 hour flight with a toddler, she’s an angel) and has been helping me conquer projects around the house that I’d never get done alone.

It’s so refreshing to sit back and think of the blessing that have been showered on you. I’m grateful for so many things this is just a touch of them.

James 1:17

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
