Fall Bucket List

As the seasons are changing I’m realizing that like the weather changes, life as well comes in season. I know that may sound cliche but it’s currently where I’m at. I’m learning that it’s okay that some seasons are different than others and both feelings of contentment and uncomfortableness can happen at the same time.

So much of my heart has contentment. So, so much of it. But in this season of life a little piece of my heart has some uncomfortable parts that I’m waiting on. All of these uncomfortable parts will soon bear good fruit, but in the meantime I’m learning how to live in the waiting and continue to listen to the Lord as he’s whispering “be still”.

If you were to ask my husband something about me he would probably tell you how much I love to be content and that routine things and places are my happy place. Over the past few months I’ve learned that I want to keep my heart feeling content and continuing to do and see good in the waiting. I’m working on keeping my mind focused on the present while not loosing this season of life thinking too much about the next. There is so much good in the present, and there will be so much good in the future. I want to soak all of it in and not only think of the next.

To keep my heart and mind content I created a fall bucket list for this season of things I want to do, see and learn. As the seasons change I’m hoping to change my bucket list with each season. My fall bucket list is a bit, “basic” but it wouldn’t be me if it wasn’t. So, in my list there is nothing earth shattering, just things that make my heart happy during this fall season.

Fall bucket list:

  1. Find a cute pumpkin patch.
  2. Decorate my house with simple fall decorations. This is my favorite fall piece I have.
  3. Make chicken pot pie. I love making single servings of pot pie and this recipe is delicious.
  4. Paint a pumpkin with my daughter
  5. Memorize 3 verses on thankfulness
  6. Make Halloween cookies (recipe and picture below)
  7. Eat an apple cider donut
  8. Make pillsbury fall cookies. They are simple but so fun, especially for kids!
  9. Burn fall candles. Bath and Body Works candles are my favorite.
  10. Make carmel apple sangria. I hardly ever drink wine, this is probably the one glass I have all year long but the drink has become a fall favorite for a cozy night. (Recipe coming soon)
