What is TC?

The phrase treasured clay has a special meaning to me. Unfortunately it isn’t a site where clay products are sold, so I’m sorry if you’ve landed in the wrong spot, but I hope you stick around! I’ve always wanted to start a blog. A place where I can escape from the rest of my duties to share things I love with others and hopefully speak life into anyone who is needing encouragement. My idea of a blog has gotten pushed back year after year due to fear, commitment and well, not even knowing how to design a webpage. Thankfully I have a talented husband who, #1 encouraged me to pursue treasured clay and #2 is amazing at web and graphic design to now lead the way!

At treasured clay you will find relatable posts with encouragement from the Word, my journey in being a wife and a new mom, cooking ideas and things that, well, just make me smile, because I love to smile! Spreading joy is what I love and what you will find at treasured clay!

Posts at treasured clay will be from my heart. They may not always be novels, they may not always be perfect but they will be real. I believe I am flawed and messy but thankfully saved by the grace of a very big God and that’s what you can count on seeing.

Now, onto what treasured clay means. Maybe you should first know I love the Lord with all my heart, soul and mind. He is my strength and my song. The Lord has blessed me with far more than I could ever imagine and done great things for me.

The phrase treasured clay comes from one of my favorite Bible verses, 2 Corinthians 4:7-11

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed;

perplexed, but not in despair;

persecuted, but not abandoned;

struck down, but not destroyed.

We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.

For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body.”

This verse has always spoken to me in the way that we are the jars of clay, something fragile and easily broken, yet moldable by Jesus’ all surpassing power living inside of us! It is not because of me but because of Him! The verse portrays so much of the things we can feel in life but with Jesus we are never crushed, never in despair, never abandoned and never destroyed.

I hope you can come to treasured clay and feel, “treasured” for who God has created you to be!
