“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
This week I’m going to let this verse sink in to my heart. I may just write it on my chalk board, sticky note it to my desk and hang it on my fridge to be completely aware of what it speaks.
I feel like sometimes we get so busy “running the race” in the middle of the week we start to lose faith when we’re not seeing the results we want in certain areas. Maybe we’re looking for a raise and not getting it. Maybe we’re trying to recover from an injury and it just isn’t healing fast enough. Maybe we’re wanting our boss to notice how hard we’re working. Maybe it’s healing a relationship with a friend or even just striving to be nice to that co-worker that is being difficult. Or maybe even more, such as battling being afraid or anxious and we just can’t shake it.
What I love about this verse is that it reminds me that God will work out all the details. His timing is perfect and His ways are so good. When I rush things I know the result is not going to turn out as well as when I wait patiently for Him to be in control. Now, waiting patiently really isn’t my strongest suite. I usually want answers and I want them now, but that’s not Gods plan. I’ve tried to take matters into my own hands before and I’ve learned that His ways are much better than my ways, even if that means waiting on Him!
God has a certain way of working things out. He has a way to get you that raise, a way to heal your injury, a way to speak to your boss, a way to restore your relationship, a way to free you from anxiety, a way to know all of your hearts desires and give them to you in His perfect timing. So if you’re struggling with not receiving what you are so desperately striving for, rest in knowing that He will work all things together for those who love Him.
We have a very big God. Nothing is out of His reach. So, pray big prayers. Tell him what your heart is needing. Share with Him what you’re experiencing and He will refresh you. He wants to hear from you. He wants to restore your soul and give you every desire of your heart. Maybe it’s not tomorrow, maybe it’s not in a month or a year but let Him walk beside you during the process and He will guide your way.
I hope you have a beautiful Sunday and can rest in knowing that no matter what you’re striving for God has a plan and purpose to work things together for you. It may not be your vision of it but once again, His vision is better than ours!
