How to Have a Week of Contentment: Day Two

Okay, I have to confess this post is a practice what I preach kind of post. I love a clean house and I love a schedule, but life gets busy with work, family and a baby and sometimes(a lot of the time) the bed doesn’t get made. But, life still goes on, and it doesn’t make me any more or any less. When my house is tidy, the rest of my day is a little less hectic. That thought in the back of my head telling me, “There are dishes in the sink and your bed isn’t made” is gone, allowing me to focus on something else.

I also love check lists. Checking things off my to-do list makes me feel accomplished. I’ve started following a cleaning to-do list that helps me each day tidy-up and by the weekend I’m not overwhelmed with a huge cleaning project to attack. Now, I’m not talking about scrubbing the baseboards every week, just the things to keep your life sound. A few tasks each day to keep things from piling up and becoming overwhelming.

I’ve realized that when I tidy up and do a few simple things daily, my week is more organized. When life happens, I can pick up where I left off. I love being able to go downstairs in the morning to a straightened living room. It gives my day a little more peace.

Here’s a example of what I like to do:

I hope this helps you a little! Feel free to print out the image above or save it to your phone.
